Initial Consultation: What to Bring

After you schedule an appointment for an initial bankruptcy consultation Brad Olson, you must prepare by gathering the documentation listed below.

This will assist us in fully discussing your situation. and helping to determine if Chapter 7 bankruptcy or Chapter 13 bankruptcy is best for you.

  • A Copy of all of monthly, quarterly and annual  bills
  • Most recent paystubs
  • Most recent federal and state tax returns and W-2’s
  • For any real estate you own or are buying, a copy of the last tax bill
  • Make, model, year and mileage for any vehicles you own or are currently buying
  • If you were divorced in the last six years, a copy of your marital settlement agreement

  • Don't run up your credit cards before filing for bankruptcy. Charges made within 90 days of filing cannot usually be discharged.
  • Do not borrow money or make debt payments or any significant property transfers without seeking a competent lawyer for advice.
  • Never transfer any interest in any real estate that you own to anyone who says he or she is trying to help you save your home.
  • Notify all of your creditors and debt collectors of your decision to file for bankruptcy and how to contact your attorney.
